A visit to the past. Experience country life of yesteryear with Pannonian cuisine of today.
In the Dazumal open-air museum in Bad Tatzmannsdorf , buildings that were no longer needed as a result of changes in the way of life and the economy in the southern Burgenland region and were therefore threatened with decay or demolition at their original location have been preserved for posterity. In the sense of a holistic way of presentation, the former way of life and economy is now illustrated by appropriately furnishing the rooms with household goods and equipment.
The economic changes that began in southern Burgenland in the 1950s - increasing mechanization with a simultaneous decline in agricultural holdings - fundamentally changed agricultural structures and thus the landscape. Typical wooden buildings, often still thatched with straw and by now no longer functional, disappeared from the landscape as a result of conversions and new buildings.
During our guided tours we reveal secrets about the rural way of life from the 18th century. You can find the current dates here. Visits without a guided tour are possible at any time through a turnstile.
Entrance fee: EUR 2,-

Meet Burgenland hospitality. We love being so intensely rooted in the region. Southern Burgenland is the home of our employees. The passion for regional recipes that simply taste good was laid in the cradle of many of them. Our guests can taste that. And they also appreciate the charming surroundings offered to them by the ambience of the Dazumal Freilichtmuseum & Arkadenheuriger Bad Tatzmannsdorf.Â
The cozy atmosphere in the courtyard and in the rustic Stub'n, "a guiti Jausn, wos imma gibt" and the homemade specialties from the Feuerfleck to the "oven-fresh Sunntogsbrat'l" - these specialties make up our overall culinary experience. Of course, a glass of Burgenland wine, such as the famous Uhudler, as well as natural fruit juices from the Burgenland's meadow orchards are also part of the "zünftige" Jause.
Free tables are allocated to guests on a "first come - first serve" basis. Come by, the team in the Arkadenheuriger is always trying to find a place for you.
