Kurpark

The Kurpark in Bad Tatzmannsdorf is both a natural paradise and a place of relaxation, enjoyment and health, appealing to both body and soul. Today something wonderful happened to me: I dreamed while walking.

These lines come from the diary of the Austrian writer Franz Grillparzer from 1852, when he stayed in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. A line that is able to impressively describe the magic of this place. A place that is open to everything.

Natural idyll

One of the outstanding features of the spa park is its Cretan labyrinth, which invites you to wander along tangled paths and get lost in the greenery. It was built on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the spa park in 1996. The park is characterized by its old and diverse tree population, which not only provides shade, but also creates a soothing atmosphere to relax and unwind. From serin, stonechat to finch, the Kurpark offers a rich birdlife that makes the heart of nature lovers beat faster. The many oak catkins that frolic in the park are another endearing sight. These lively creatures hop from tree to tree, collecting nuts and providing entertainment and joy for park visitors. With their nimble and playful nature, they contribute to the lively atmosphere of the spa park. The Kurpark Bad Tatzmannsdorf offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Here you will find old trees, green meadows and the picturesque Tschadbach stream with a small spa pond. The flowers and shrubs near the spa restaurant and spa hotels add charm to the park. 

Sports

For those who like sports, there is a running and walking arena, perfect for getting active in nature. And if you are lucky, you may be able to watch the nimble squirrels frolicking in the park. Wide paths crisscross the park, where you can enjoy nature at your leisure. On the bank of the Tschadbach stream there is a gentle Finnish track for athletes, perfect for short running sessions or Nordic walking. Bad Tatzmannsdorf is the center of the running and walking arena Südburgenland, which extends over about 370 kilometers and offers ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

Art and culture

Art lovers:inside will appreciate the numerous sculptures and artworks in Kurpark that enrich the ambience of the park. The works of art blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings and give the park a special artistic touch. Visitors:inside have the opportunity to admire these works of art and be inspired by them.
In addition, the Kurpark offers a unique connection to culture, as it is directly adjacent to the REDUCE Kultursaal and to the stage on the main square. These stelae use engravings and lithographs to present images and descriptions from the 17th to 19th centuries, providing insights into the historical architecture and surroundings of the region. This new themed trail was ceremonially opened in August 2023 and offers a fascinating comparison of yesterday and today! Among other things, the oldest view of the spa square and its surroundings from the year 1620 can be seen or the depiction of the spa around 1800. A show worth seeing, which can be visited at any time in an approximately half-hour tour through the beautiful Kurpark of Bad Tatzmannsdorf.
