BURGENLÄNDISCHES VORZEIGEPROJEKT IN SACHEN KLIMANEUTRALITÄT
Around 600.000,- Euro invests the REDUCE Gesundheitsresort Bad Tatzmannsdorf in a 785 kWp Photovoltaikanlage.
REDUCE Gesundheitsresort Bad Tatzmannsdorf, 11.10.2021 | In the future, the roof surfaces of twelve buildings in the Reduce health resort will be used to generate local solar power. Still this year this potential is fully developed for energy production and on approx. 3765 m ² 2066 Photovoltaik panels are installed. The Kurmittelhaus itself and the five connected hotels require a constant power supply all year round. This is particularly complex and extensive due to requirements such as air conditioning or heating in therapy and swimming areas, but also in the preparation of the remedies. For this reason, the path towards renewable energy was taken years ago. Since 2015, CO²-neutral district heating has been obtained from the biomass heating plant in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. The current investment in a high-performance photovoltaic system now represents a further milestone in terms of climate neutrality for the renowned leading company. 100 percent of the energy generated is fed directly into the company's own building complex. This means that 20 percent of the company's own energy requirements can be covered by the system. Even in the first year of operation, the energy costs saved are estimated at around 84,000 euros.
"In Burgenland, we have decided to make full use of renewable forms of energy. This means that we want to produce and use solar power wherever it is possible and makes sense to do so. The plant we are talking about here is just like that. The electricity is produced on the roof and used and deployed right here. I'm proud and glad that companies like the Reduce health department are leading the way here and showing how it can be done. And I am also very pleased that Energie Burgenland, as our energy company, is also a stable, reliable and innovative partner for customers and companies on the path to the energy future and to climate neutrality," says Governor Hans-Peter Doskozil.
Reduce: Appreciative approach to nature and the environment
The project also includes the installation of a total of 16 e-charging points for electric cars, which are also fed by the photovoltaic system. In this way, the necessary requirements in terms of e-mobility are met. Both in the 4*Superior thermal hotels and in the spa hotels, guests can take advantage of this charging option. "We are committed to a binding climate strategy in our actions, both towards our employees and our guests," emphasizes Andreas Leitner, Managing Director of REDUCE Gesundheitsresort Bad Tatzmannsdorf. "This includes an appreciative handling of all resources that nature has provided us with. Only in such a way it succeeded also so far for example the moor fields in lasting cycle economy over a period of more than 130 years to receive. By the way, peat extraction is carried out with emission-free e-diggers , " adds Leitner .
"Climate change offers an unprecedented opportunity for us to become even stronger and more economically independent. By using renewable technologies, we are not only protecting our climate for our children, but also creating an economic advantage for ourselves. Recognizing precisely this is entrepreneurial strength. Here we see what that means: having our own roof-top photovoltaics reduces CO2 emissions, increases supply independence and lowers energy costs. As a GreenTech company, we want to lead the companies on this path into a successful future in a spirit of partnership. We want Burgenland - Austria's land of the sun - to also become the land of solar roofs and solar parks. We are sending out a clear signal: We will become the land of sun roofs," says Stephan Sharma, CEO of Energie Burgenland.
