Appreciation Hannes Steiger

In a festive ceremony yesterday, May 8, 2025, a bust was dedicated to Hannes Steiger, the long-time massage therapist, author and pioneer of acupressure, in the Kurpark of Bad Tatzmannsdorf. Numerous companions and guests of honor as well as the management of the REDUCE health resort paid tribute to the 74-year-old.

Andreas Leitner, Managing Director of the REDUCE Health Resort, paid tribute to Steiger's extraordinary life and tireless commitment. "Hannes Steiger has not only treated over 300,000 people over five decades, but has also conveyed a deep understanding of holistic health. His hands touch - not only the body, but often also the soul."

The ceremonial unveiling of the bust was accompanied by musical performances. Numerous guests of honor spoke words of appreciation about Steiger's work and influence far beyond southern Burgenland. It was repeatedly emphasized how his work is valued across generations and how his knowledge lives on through his books and training courses.

Hannes Steiger himself was visibly moved: "I have never seen this job as work, but as a task and my passion. I am sincerely grateful that my life's journey is now also visible here." Hannes Steiger has been living with an incurable eye disease since his youth - but neither his will nor his passion for his profession have ever let this slow him down. Just a few weeks ago, ORF dedicated a moving short documentary to him, which impressively traces his life with all its ups and downs.
