Bad Tatzmannsdorf, November 2025 – At the annual conference of the Austrian Association of Health Resorts and Spas (ÖHKV) at REDUCE Bad Tatzmannsdorf, experts from the fields of medicine, science, and practice exchanged views on current developments and future prospects in spa and preventive medicine. State Secretary Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig addressed the participants via video message, emphasizing the importance of Austrian health resorts as part of a modern healthcare system.

Technical focus areas and discussions

Associate Professor Dr. Herwig Ostermann, Managing Director of Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, described spa treatment as an integral part of modern healthcare, in which medical, social, and economic aspects are intertwined. Mag.a Canan Aytekin, Deputy Director General of the Pension Insurance Fund, discussed the role of pension insurance in rehabilitation and healthcare. Birgit Farnleitner, MA, addressed the topic of sustainability and highlighted the responsibility of health resorts in dealing with resources, climate, and social health.

It promotes research, quality assurance, and exchange in the field of healthcare.
